History
inci: Citrus Aurantium Amara Flower Oil (Neroli essential oil)
Dating back as far as the 17th century, Neroli Oil was adored by Italian aristocrats. The Duchess of Bracciano was famed for her use of the Bitter Orange Essential Oil, infusing her gloves with its aroma and adding a few drops to her bath – she loved it so that she famously became known as ‘Princess Nerola’.
Coined the ‘oil of romance’ Neroli Essential Oil has long been used in weddings because of both its calming properties and its aphrodisiac effects.
The beautiful, delicate, small white flowers of the bitter orange tree are hand-picked and distilled through low-pressure steam; however, it is imperative to move quickly as the petals quickly lose their famous fragrance.
The production of this Oil is highly time and labour consuming. Neroli oil is not only highly coveted, but also very rare and hard to make, with 1 ton of the flower yield required to produce only 1 kilogram of Neroli Essential Oil.

Watermelon seed oil is high in unsaturated fatty acids, dominated by linoleic (63%) and oleic (15%) acids. Compared to that of other melons, watermelon seed oil shows significant antioxidant activity, with 5% higher levels of tocopherols. Tocopherols are a family of vitamin E compounds widely praised for their ability to protect the skin from the adverse effects of oxidative stress, including photo-aging. Vitamin E also boasts anti-inflammatory properties, which do wonders for irritated skin.

Beeswax
Beeswax has many healing properties. The anti-inflammatory properties of beeswax encourage the healing of wounds. It is also protective, helping form a barrier between the skin and the environment without clogging pores.
Like honey, beeswax has antibacterial properties helping keep things clean and reducing risks of contamination. This makes it a common ingredient in skin treatments, salves and more.
Bee happy with beeswax! It is and provides:
- Gently occlusive, slows down TEWL (Trans Epidermal Water Loss)
- Protective barrier that keeps that area of skin better moisturised and protected from external damaging agents
- Natural emollient that keeps the skin soft
Coconut oil
Coconut oil contains fatty acids and micronutrients that may help to reverse skin damage, heal skin disorders, and moisturize. It’s a highly respected moisturizer.
Its antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties help to prevent and heal skin conditions. Coconut oil may also:
• increase collagen production
• help the skin to retain moisture
• soften the skin
Vitamin E
Vitamin E fights off free radicals on the skin, which are a result of daily environmental stressors like unprotected sun exposure and air pollution. In fighting off free radicals, vitamin E helps protect the skin from damage.
Additionally, Vitamin E has moisturising and healing benefits, and helps to strengthen skin barrier function. Vitamin E is also a natural anti-inflammatory, so it can be soothing and help calm the skin. It’s also good for hydrating skin, and serves as a moderately effective natural barrier to the sun.
Jojoba Oil
Unlike most other oils, Jojoba oil is non-comedogenic which means that for most people it shouldn’t clog pores. Effects of any oil does vary from person to person and is dependant on an individual’s skin type.
It can aid the skin barrier – as Jojoba oil is a liquid wax, it remains on the surface of the skin for longer than other natural oils. Jojoba oil can be used anywhere on your body, and is perfectly safe to use on your face without the need of it being diluted.
Anti–Microbial
Jojoba Oil naturally deters microbes, helping to prevent the growth of bacteria on skin. This property makes it useful for those with acne, and also provides an added wound-healing benefit. Bonus: Jojoba Oil acts as a natural preservative.
Jojoba Oil has anti-inflammatory properties which help to tame chaffing and chapping, reduce redness caused by drying, ease the effects of eczema and rosacea, and keep skin calm and comfortable. The Vitamin E and B-complex vitamins in the Jojoba Oil help in skin repair and damage control in turn soothing dry skin.
Jojoba Oil’s hydrating action soothes sunburn and helps reduce the chances of peeling. Jojoba Oil is recommended for people with sensitive skin (including psoriasis and eczema) because of its gentle nature. Applying Jojoba Oil to compromised skin can help reduce flare-ups.
Because Jojoba Oil is very similar to our own skin oils, it immediately penetrates skin and smoothes easily, helping to promote healthy, glowing skin without clogging pores or leaving a greasy residue.
Because it is the perfect moisturizer, Jojoba can help slow down the appearance of aging, and help to fade fine lines and wrinkles. In dermatological tests, it was shown that Jojoba Oil increases the skin’s suppleness and the effect was still present as time passed. Tests also showed continued use of Jojoba Oil resulted in reducing superficial facial lines.
